Last Week’s Program: There were 25 Rotarians at Rosalie’s for our March 12
meeting. If you missed it, you
missed a good, fun evening and a great meal all orchestrated by Roberta Williams. Jim
Gregg even was gracious in addition to being on ticket sales “popped” for
all dinner libations. Thank you
Jim! There even was some
discussion of meeting “off campus” more often or at least occasionally as a fun
change.
This Week’s Program: A representative of an organization promoting pork as a healthy “center of the plate” meat dish will be
our presenter. More
during speaker chairman Skip Plank’s
introduction (which always proves enlightening).
Next Week’s Program: Jacque McConnaghy & Pat Snyder representing the
Skaneateles Outreach Program will be our presenters. Recall this organization is always a
recipient of our Christmas Basket dinner program at the country club.
Storage of SRC Memorabilia
& Historical Material: In our
March 3 Skantarian we asked for space and more
importantly a volunteer to store our Rotary pennants, banners, charter and
other significant items. To date
that volunteer has yet to step forward.
If you have some dry, available space, please step forward and help. Please contact Ward Vuillemot, who holds this material now and has for the past
several years. Thank you.
Doubleday’s Game Meeting: Would we be interested in having a meeting one evening at a
Doubleday’s Game in Auburn? Carl Gutelius,
general manager of the Doubleday’s has a promotional package available for $14
per attendee, including game, dinner and some extras. Please see the “attachment” with this mailing and speak up
if you believe this might be a fun event.
Carl is a Rotarian in Auburn and can be reached at 255.2489 for further
details.
Spring ’09 Service Project: Peter Adams has
been busy gaining support from both the Skaneateles village and town
governments for some baseball diamond improvements. More complete information including at least some
preliminary work details by next week.
David Lee has once again
volunteered to be our “on site” contractor and foreman.
March District #7150 CREDO is being sent along with
this Skantarian or can be read at the District’s web
site.
Rotary Foundation Seminar to be held on March 28; see
attached bulletin of the Credo for more information.
Of Note: Marna and Skip Plank’s daughter Jennifer had
a healthy baby boy. Skip’s sure to
have a Happy $5 this week! Jack Priest is
expected to be released from Community General Tuesday (St. Patty’s
Day). Jack we hope to hear some good jokes soon. MJ & Todd May
are expecting their “first” grandchild any day. Todd says he is not nervous …. right!
Benediction & Atonement: Lee Bennett, has
kindly agreed to convey some thoughtful words of wisdom. Atonement may take a
week off.

Sent to us by Bill Conole,
It’s impossible to baptize cats.
When mom is mad at dad, do not let
her brush your hair.
If your sister hits you, don’t hit
back; they always catch the second person.
Never ask your 3-year-old brother to
hold a tomato.
Dogs cannot be trusted to watch your

Do not hold a dust buster and a cat
at the same time.
You cannot hide broccoli in a glass
