2009 Service Project:  This Monday Peter Adams made a presentation to the Skaneateles village board regarding some ball field improvements we are proposing as a service project for this spring.  Next week he will present similarly to the Town’s Board.  David Lee has offered to assist with actual construction.  More information at our next assembly and upcoming Skantarians.  Assuming all works out, it will be a 2009 “Spring” project.  Gentlemen, Thank You.

Michele Tarnow has regrettably informed us she is resigning, citing economic pressures relating to her expanded responsibilities with Kodak in Rochester and the corresponding commuting, leaving her little spare time.  We wish her the best and hope to have her visit as a guest from time to time.

Last Week:  Bill Conole and visiting Marcellus Rotarian Jerry Ferro gave a presentation on the Lourdes Camp’s 100-acre lakefront campus.  They discussed renovations, including the boathouse among other structures.  Great job gentlemen and thank you.  It seems there may be some service project or fundraising potentials at Lourdes for us to consider.

This Week:  Dinner will be at Rosalie’s Cantina at our regular time. Come early for libations and camaraderie.  No program as such is on our agenda.  A good time to relax, have a great meal.  Bring a friend or prospective member.  Not just one person has mentioned the Syracuse round ball game at the Garden – no worries, it’s a 9 P.M. start.

Next Week - March 19:

Board meeting at 5 P.M.  -- Normally, a club assembly would follow but with the Sherwood closing during the week of March 9, we have had to make some changes.

Dinner Program -- All pork, not exactly Congressional Pork, but rather Pork Chops and Pork Lobby.  A representative of an organization promoting pork as a healthy meat alternative will present reasons for increasing pork as part of our diet. I can only imagine the number of pork jokes there! Next week’s meal; don’t bet against something full of pork.

Benediction & Atonement:  Jack Priest who has been among the missing for what seems like most of the Winter will give one of his patented invocations.  Welcome back Jack, no pork!

March 5th Attendance & Missing Faces:  There were “24” Rotarians at last week’s meeting (attendance 49%).  Missing:  Bentivegna, Buterbaugh, Caldwell, Corcoran, D’Angelo, Emmer, Gregg, Keefe, Kokosa, Langley, Lee, Moody, Patil, Poppa, Priest, Rademacher, Renner, Roche, Sardino, Shannon, Tarnow, Weaver

Bruno de Melo is being billeted temporarily with Roberta & Kosta.

Jack Hyatt’s sister, Eleanor is holding her own at home in Eagle Bay.
