October 16 Attendance & Missing Faces: There were “ 27 ” Rotarians at
last week’s meeting (attendance 50%).
Missing: Bentivegna, Buterbaugh,
Caldwell, Corcoran, D’Angelo, Emmer, Gregg, Keefe, May, Moody, O’Neill, Price,
Priest, Renner, Ruhlman, Tarnow, Weaver, Whalen, Williams, Wisner, Zabel
Last Week’s Program: Pat Taylor &
Ryan Callahan each discussed the “Boy’s State” experience, what it
meant to them, all those who participate, and the value to each as they proceed
through life. Ryan, this year’s
participant was especially fascinating to listen to and clearly was grateful
for Rotary’s support and interest. Our own Dick
Kokosa recalled his time spent at Boy’s State[OWL1] ; and that was a few years back.
This Weeks Program: Ward Vuillemot
will provide a short “how to” and “value of” the Skaneateles Rotary Club web
site he has developed, keeps up to date and which provides all we’d ever need
to know about both the SRC & SSC.
This site is a great avenue to become aware of Rotary happenings
locally, district wide and internationally. It features an expanse of topics
Rotary is immersed in. Ward has offered to explain how to best utilize the site
and has already done a similar presentation for the Sunrise Club. We can expect
some good information from our Club Trainer.
Next Week’s Program: West Point’s past lacrosse coach and SRC member Jack Emmer will give his
classification presentation on Oct. 23.
Jack has done some speaking at a variety of functions and this one is
sure to be great. We are looking forward to it Coach.
Of Note: Dale Zabel is recovering from a procedure to remove some
kidney stones. Am sure he’d
appreciate a call or card.
Benediction & Atonement: The invocation will be given by Ed Corcoran, who has just returned from a short vacation in
Truro on Cape Cod. John May will
take our money with his winning smile, so bring those GW’s.

NEW MEMBER // YOUTH EXCHANGE DINNER MEETING; THURSDAY, NOVEMBERBER 6,
SKANEATELES HIGH SCHOOL @ “6” P.M.:
Please
note and put on your calendars!
Bring a prospective new member or
neighbor who might be interested in community efforts or other Rotary sponsored
functions. Roberta Williams,
membership chair is asking us all to bring a non-Rotarian guest. We have a new
membership goal of 10 for this current Rotary year.
This
meeting will also feature the local inbound exchange students for us all to
meet. Should you know a family that has someone interested in becoming an
outbound exchange student sometime in the future, this is also a meeting that
will focus on their interest.
A
signup sheet for this event, only two weeks away, will be available this
Thursday and next (Oct. 30) to sign yourself up plus your guests. Don’t neglect
to note the 6 p.m. time and Skaneateles High School location.
If
you have some interesting news, thoughts, or information for our club, or
something you’d like to share, the SKANTATIAN
is waiting for your input. Last
week featured a note of appreciation from Joan Priest that was an update
on Jack and his recuperation.
