words of wisdom and help us pay for our ways.
Last Week's Program: Karen Ververka gave us a nice look
at herself and an interesting view of her family stretching from San Diego,
through Nebraska, the upper Midwest and to upstate New York where she lives and
teaches. Fascinating how divergent our local Rotary family backgrounds
are.
This Week's Program: David
Figura will discuss with us some experiences as Outdoor Editor of the Syracuse
Post Standard. He is a Mottville resident and well aware of Skaneateles
life and Rotary's immurement in the community. Our new directory (PG. 17)
features a picture of his son Alex who is off to Venezuela as a Rotary exchange
student on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

News and Notices:
PANCAKE BREAKFAST VOLUNTEER THANK YOU
PICNIC: This year’s picnic will be on September
11 at Lourdes Camp and once again Karen Price and Timer Whittingham
will be chairing the event. All volunteers who worked the breakfast as well as
all Rotarians are invited for a happy hour beginning at 6PM followed by a
chicken dinner at 7PM. As in the
past, Rotarians whose last names begin with the letters A-M are requested to
bring an hors d’oeuvre and those Rotarians with last names N-Z are asked to
bring a dessert. Reservations are
required for a dinner count so a sign up sheet will be circulated at the next
several Rotary meetings. Also,
invitations have been sent out to the many volunteers who are not Rotary family
members and the expectation is that Rotarians will personally invite their
spouses/partners and family members. Timer is in charge of the dinner
count so please RSVP to him if you can’t sign up at a meeting. Lastly,
Rotarians are requested to pay ($12) for their spouses while family member
guests and non-Rotarian volunteer guests are on the club.
