40th Annual Pancake Breakfast, another SUCCESS!
June 15th - The Skantarians, Interacters and friends, once again shared a fun filled and busy Fathers Day serving about 3,500 guests at their 40th Annual Pancake Breakfast.  In addition to thousands of pancakes, eggs and sausages being consumed, and old friends and family meeting up,  a few hundred flares were sold by the Boy Scouts, shirts and balloons marketed by the Interact club, and a John Deere tractor raffled by the Sunrise Rotary club. Our many thanks to all those that chipped in for that extra ordinary effort for the past four days of set-up, flipping, and tear-down to make this event a great success.

Skaneateles RC Year End Summaries: This week’s program is a Club Assembly meeting in which Sue Keefe will present our preliminary financial results for 2007-08 and Dick Kokosa will present a summary of this year’s non-financial accomplishments. The following week’s program will focus on talks by each of the Board Committee Chairs, which will address the committee accomplishments and observations. We have had a very good year and we hope that you can participate in the celebration of our accomplishments!

Volunteers Needed: We are looking for volunteers for the 70th Anniversary Lightning Regatta. Participants will arrive in the afternoon of Thursday 7/3.  Friday 7/4 will be mostly on-shore activities as people arrive throughout the day.  Racing will be Saturday and Sunday.

The needs are: Support boats, with drivers and crew; Welcoming help for check-in, registration, parking, and traffic control; ATVs/4-wheelers for launching and parking boats; Bottled water and snacks for the volunteers.

Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) seeks Team Leader – The GSE program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for non-Rotarian businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.  The team leader is a knowledgeable Rotarian.

District 7150 is seeking applicants for Rotarian GSE Team Leaders to a four-week GSE to Brazil, departing Syracuse May 5, 2009.  The deadline for applications is August 1, 2008.
