News and Notices:
Pancake Breakfast Ticket Sales - At our May 8 meeting, Lee
Overstrom our ticket sales chair, distributed bundles of tickets for all
Rotarians to sell prior to the Pancake Breakfast on June 15. If you didn’t
receive yours, please contact Lee. The expectation as well as the club
tradition is that every Rotarian will sell at least his/her allotment of
$135 worth of tickets; many venues are available in the next month to
accomplish this task, e.g. the Memorial Day parade, the P&C, etc. Just as a
reminder, there are two main reasons underlying the importance of pre-breakfast
ticket sales. First, if we have a disaster like a weather problem and have to
abort the breakfast at the last minute, pre ticket sales will allow us to cover
our many thousands of dollars in upfront costs mainly for perishable food.
Secondly, pre sales accommodate many in the community who don’t choose to
attend the breakfast but wish to support Rotary’s worthy causes. So please hit
the streets and sell those tickets. It’s really a lot of fun!
Important: This is an important heads up on your role in the remainder
of the Club’s meeting programs for the Rotary year; please look for your name
below and in the revised 2007-2008 Program Schedule; there have been recent
changes and additions:
May 22nd - John Hennessy, you are chairing the
meeting;
Simon,
this is the new date for your classification talk;
Phil,
please follow up with the other speakers.
May 29th - Bill Canole, you have a Classification talk;
Roberta,
you are chairing the Club Foundation meeting for the trustee vote.
June 5th - Lee Bennett, you are in charge
of a Year end YE program;
Chuck
O’Neil, you have a classification talk.
June 12th - Robin,
you have the floor for the Pancake Breakfast.
June 19th - Sue and Dick
will give year end reports.
June 26th - Doug, you are chairing the meeting and
the main program is summary reports from each of the chairs; J Jack
Emmer is scheduled for a classification talk; perhaps postpone to the following
week.
July 3rd - John Hennessy, you are the meeting
chair for the new year and the Club COG is the first
order of business
Please advise any conflicts or
errors; otherwise, Dick shall assume that we all are in agreement. Dick appreciates
your help on this because he is out of town for much of the remainder of the
Rotary year.
District Meetings: There are two great meetings coming up in the next few
weeks. See the District web site to register and for details (http://www.rotarydistrict7150.org/calendar.html)
and let Dick Kokosa know that you are going.
· The 91st Annual District 7150

Rome, NY. For the first time, we have the Chairman of the Rotary
Foundation Board of Trustees, Dr. Robert Scott, as our Keynote Speaker!
