News and Notices:

á      Dec 6 Christmas Benefit Fund Raiser a Huge SuccessThe December 6th Annual Skaneateles Rotary Christmas Benefit yielded between $6,500-7,000 for the Christmas gift program of the Skaneateles Outreach Office and  the Christmas dinner baskets distributed by the Skaneateles and Spafford Food Pantries.  About 170 generous Rotarians and their guests from the community attended this yearÕs event.  Lots of turkey, good times and fellowship were had by all at the Skaneateles Country Club venue.  Our hats off and many thanks to the clubÕs hard working Christmas Benefit committee consisting of: Todd May (chair), Jack Hyatt, Steve Schwartz, Robin Jowaisas, Timer Whittingham, and Dale Zabel.

3.    For the third item of business, we will have a membership vote on four proposed revisions to our club bylaws. These revisions have been reviewed, recommended for approval by the Board and provided to you previously. The four revisions separately relate to: 1) more flexibility in the date of the annual meeting, 2) elimination of a requirement to contribute to TRF as a condition of membership, 3) adding Fundraising and Leadership as Standing Board Committees and 4) adding restrictions upon club officers and directors regarding their serving on both our Club and the Club Foundation Boards in the same Rotary year. Similar restrictions are in the Foundation bylaws approved on Nov 19, 2007.
