Welcome to Walter J. Baird Middle School where learning comes first. Our strengths lie in our professional, highly qualified, caring teachers and our diversity. As a faculty we have 560 plus years of experience in education working with young people. Our goal is to help all students be successful academically, socially, and in all facets of life.

A plethora of activities, in addition to TN standards based academics, are available for students to discover their talents. We offer a variety of sports; football, volleyball, soccer, golf, basketball, cheerleading, dance team, softball, and baseball. Other activities include band, after-school tutoring, Extend, the gifted program, enrichment activities after school, Naturalist Club, Math Club, Drama, Student Government, which sponsors many social activities, Future Problem-Solving, and Youth in Legislature. We also participate in the National Geography Bee and the Wilson County Spelling Bee.
