Ingredients

  • 1 cup water, 80F
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 3.5 cups bread flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

Directions

Prepare dough in bread machine.

Place on a lightly floured surface. Roll into a large rectangle. Starting with the longest side, roll up tighly, pressing the seams to seal and tapering each end.

Place loaf on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise in a warm place 40 minutes or until doubled in size.

With a knife, cut 3 diagonal slashes across top of the loaf. Make glaze with 2 TBS water and 1/2 tsp salt, brush the loaf generously with glaze.

Bake at 400F for 20 to 25 minutes
