I put up this page to show some pictures of the Artifacting problem that has plagues my Mac Pro since I bought it. Following are a number of pictures that are, admittedly, very difficult to make out the problem. There are also two video that illustrates the problem slightly better. Though by no means is it obvious unless you look for the red flashing pixels.
These pictures are a bit blurry but if you look closely you can see lit up red subpixels. It is hard to capture them since they flicker so quickly but they are there. This is not a defect with the monitor as I had been using for a year previously with my old Quicksilver Powermac and never once experienced such problems.
The following videos also illustrate the flickering slightly better though it is slightly harder to see the subpixels due to the low resolution of my camera's movie processing.

The first movie is tough to see, but at the end of the second movie you can see them flickering red pretty clearly.
