WonderCon

So we went up to San Francisco today to get see WonderCon. WonderCon is a ComicCon run convention. I have never been to a comic convention and we figured it was close so why not check it out. So got up there before it opened and had breakfast at Mel's Drive Thru, which is a diner just around the corner from the convention hall. We got our passes and got in just as the hall opened up. It was pretty crazy seeing all the rows of comic books. All the different little shops that had showed up. Kim took a ton of pictures of the conference and all the people in costumes. Lots of Star Wars stuff, but a couple other characters did show up. There was a Firefly/Serenity group of Jayne, Mal, and Kaylee. There was also two different green hornets. Lots of Fetts were also walking the floor. The best costume, and the bravest, was a really nice Robin costume. Going as the Boy Wonder takes balls, and his costume was top notch. The worst costume was an Alien made with a black garbage bag. I tried to get the pictures off the camera, but they have disappeared, so I think Kim has taken them already. I bought a couple shirts and a WitchBlade book. Read a bit of WitchBlade and it seemed interesting.

After the conference hall fun we watched a set of movie trailers, a panel on Jericho, and then a panel on Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. I have never watched Jericho but we are a fan of new Terminator show. It was interesting that both panels had the fans asking questions about what they needed to do to keep the show going. Both shows talked about tracking Tivo numbers which I thought was interesting. Jericho mentioned XBox downloads and Terminator mentioned the iTunes numbers also. So it seems like the the networks are starting to look at new numbers and deal with the changing landscape of television.
