Starting Things Automatically

I want to talk about is my setting up of MySQL.
Getting hold of MySQL was fine - in fact the YaST
installer enabled me to select it and install it from
my SuSE CDs. Getting it to start up automatically was
another issue. I looked around the Help system - that
didn't help much. I find that most on-line help
systems require the person needing aid to know the
right phrase to search for.
I clearly didn't even though I looked for startup, logon scripts, autostart etc.
I even tried putting a link in a directory to a script. Then I found runlevels. This was the solution, and can be done via the YaST utility.
Is this helping those switching from other OS's? No.
Once I had overcome this then getting Apache started was easy.
