Finally

I have replaced the content - the very old content that was on my Easynet web site. It is a start, but nowhere near finished. But I have started from scratch, writing up the XHTML and CSS by hand. As a learning exercise, I picked up a good book HTML for the World Wide Web with XHTM and CSS in the Visual Quickstart Guide series by Elizabeth Castro. The ISBN is 0-321-13007-3, make sure you get the latest edition - the 5th.

I have been helped with this exercise by using BBedit and the Mac OS X that includes a full working copy of Apache. That has been interesting as well. Still my hopes are to get some more content - it's very slim at present - no images at all. I intend to put up a photo area.

This is in complete distinction to my other web site whose content is completely automated from my .Mac account and tools such as iPhoto. It's good for quick delivery, such as the recent local Pantomime pictures. Just under 30 minutes from downloading the photos from the Compact Flash card to red-eye removal, cropping and uploading a selection into .Mac. Not bad.
