The National Institute of Education

My PhD was in the field of adolescent semiotics of space and place. My supervisor was Professor Allan Luke. Feel free to browse my blog if you would like to learn more about my research, or better yet, why not contribute to the wiki that i've set up :-)

The thesis is available as a book.  Here's a flyer which might help you decide whether or not to get a copy of the book for yourself :-)

Harvard

I pursued a Masters in Education at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard. The courses I took were:

The National Institute of Education

I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma-in-Education from the National Institute of Education, which is part of the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Part of my course involved research into the psychology and education of gifted children, as well as the sociological relationships between home and school.

Cambridge

These were possibly the most enriching and enjoyable days of my life. I went up to this beautiful university on an Overseas Merit Scholarship, and had the privilege of being the Liaison Officer between the Singaporean students studying there and our High Commission in London. I also sat on the University's Malaysia-Singapore Association committee.

Currently I hold a Master of Arts - a result of several years of investigation into several aspects of geography, culminating in a submission on the socio-economic impact of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit system on her population. I also studied Development issues, as well as the geographies of South Asia, the European Community and the former Soviet Union.

My college - Girton - was three miles away from town, and the distance really helped to hone my cycling skills! This is its impressive façade!

Hwa Chong Junior College

For my two years of 'A' Level studies, I was awarded a Humanities scholarship by Singapore's Ministry of Education. My Hwa Chong days were fun, and I had the privilege of captaining the college swimming team, as well as representing the college in her presentation during the annual Pre-University Seminar.

Come visit the unofficial Hwa Chong homepage!

Anglo-Chinese School

My ten years in ACS gave me a solid Christian foundation upon which to build my life. Many of the friends I made while in ACS still continue to inspire me by their steadfast walk with the Lord.

Are you an ACSian too? If so, check out ACSians' Interconnect!

While in ACS I concurrently studied both French (at the Alliance Française) and German (for which I was recognized with the German Ambassador's Award in 1984).
