Andrew bloged about noted Skeptic "Randi." If you
like that, try out one of my favorite Podcasts: Skepticality.
weekly Podcasts have become my new workout music since they usually last for
about an hour. If you too want to listen to monkey news while you pretend you

if violence against horses isn't terrorism, i don't
know what is. and you people reading this and giving these sickos attention is
only contributing to the crime. so if you don't want to be charged as an
accomplice you better just turn around and leave.

On Legacys
Lore, once responsible for Brunching
Shuttlecocks, and now responsible for a half dozen things all linked
at his blog, has posted a marvelous little opinion
which does a very good job of explaining why I hold opinions which make me seem
utterly unfeeling towards "artist's rights."

Riggs
Driving 70
MPH
on a Southern California freeway is no big thing, people do it all the time.
This 'limit' begins to increase as the number of vehicles dramatically decrease
each hour after the sun as set. So when I tell you that the other night we were
driving home at the rate of 82
MPH,
well that's not really worth writing about.
So what if I told you that while speeding down
the road, trying to shave minutes off my best time from Orange County to Los
Angeles I looked up from the dash gauges after hearing a peculiar noise to see a
white BMW, fifteen yards in front of me, also traveling at 82
MPH
but sideways, perfectly perpendicular to my own car.

[FOOD] Picasso (From BluePrint)
I put the photos from the Vegas Trip up on Flickr, and it
put me in the mind of this review I did for
BluePrint.-
Grade:4.8
ShoesMenu as
reviewed:
Peekytoe Crab
Salad
with Apple-Champagne
Vinaigrette
Roasted U-10 Day Boat
Scallops
with Potatoes Mousseline and Jus de
Veau
Sauteed Foie
Gras
with Dried Organic Sour
Cherries
------------------------------------------------------------------
Aged Lamb
Rôti
with Crust of Truffles and Au
Jus
Review:
For he record the scale is out of 5 shoes. what lost them the 0.2s? Well two
things really. The sheer difficulty of eating at the restaurant and the fact
that it turns out I mildly dislike Foie Gras. The latter really isn't their
fault, but I'm holding them responsible just the same.

Ronco in-egg scrambler
I can't even begin to describe something
this stupid without a studio audience.
This is the ultimate in "who on

Flickr Feed
I've added the bit of geist to the sidebar as
a place for photos that don't deserve a whole entry. The other cool thing is
that I can upload these photos directly from the phone so you stalker types can
see what I see every day. Up to 10 MB a month anyway. . .

I would have much prefered to see this movie.
The Star Wars LEGO video game dosn't seem
like fun to play, but it does seem like fun to
watch.Screenshots
On a related note the Clone Wars
Cartoon Series will be out on DVD soon. Yay. Please, stay home and watch that
instead of Ep. III. Send a message.

Peerflix
This might be just the thing for my pile of
unloved DVDs. Peerflix
facilitates DVD swapping for $0.99 each swap. (Discs only, swap credits
pre-purchased 5 at a time) Quality imbalance issues are solved by assigning
different "peerbux" values to titles. Most one disks seem set at 3.
This was the sort of world that people
envisioned when they protested DIVX and other consumable DVD theories. Since it
is digital there is no reason that viewing the disc would reduce the value (like
VHS) Of course, anyone with Netflix knows that occasionally someone's idea of
"viewing" includes "using it as a puck in street
hockey"Sometimes (pre-netflix) I
got a little over-zellous buying DVDs, to say nothing of well-meaning gifts from
people who don't really know my taste or DVDs Michaele and I both bought.
Still, after I dump those, I can;t
imagine using the service much more. I could see digging through the discount
DVD bin and trading up for a buck a piece where the peerbux economy lags
reality, but a) I don't have time, b) those are the bazaar people I mock in EQ
and c) If I want to OWN a DVD I want a case for it too. For me, Netflix
eliminated the need for this service, and it probably costs more than a Netflix
membership in the short run. If, however you are suddenly distraught at the
permanency of your collection, may as well put it to work.
