| Description: This
beautiful painting vividly describes the scene of peasants
weaving cotton. The red ground highlights the working
scene, lots of details such as the tile roofs of old
houses, the baby in the cradle, the dog takes a nap,
the cat on top of the grain warehouse, and the tiny
clothes sunning on the bar, a weaving machine is seen
through the open door. A lady sits on a stool and is
weaving the cotton into threads from the cotton balls,
two women and one man are stretching the cotton threads,
and one woman is combing the cotton threads, another
woman is hanging the woven cotton on the bamboo bar.
A boy and a girl are keeping the place tidy. The
signature of the artist is at the lower right corner. |
