Note from Nito: When wrestling returned to Salinas during the summer of 1976, it had been about fifteen years or more since it had last been promoted there. John Swenski and Lou Whitson brought it back, and they always held it in the gym at Palma High School. It never changed location from 1976 to 1979, when Roy Shire's TV show ended. After that, the Lubbock, Texas booking office came in for a show, then that was it for several more years. John Swenski was always the ring announcer. I had a really old camera at the time, and he always used to ask me, "Hey, kid, where'd you get that camera?" "Does it take good pictures?" He was funny.
