Jack Brisco and Me, at the Wrestling Memorabilia Fair. I saw him wrestle many times when I lived in Florida. He has a new book coming out very soon, and donated the cover art from the book to the Silent Auction.

George "The Animal" Steele was there and I did not see him eat a single turnbuckle pad. I'm sure if he had, I would have heard about it. I was really happy to meet him after so many years of reading about him and seeing him on TV. I probably sound like a broken record saying he was a very nice guy, but he was!

This was a really interesting exhibit that was on display on one of the Silent Auction tables. It was a bronze cast of Andre the Giant's hand and forearm, and it was huge! I am 6'1" and my arm looked like a child's arm in there. I'm really sorry I didn't take a picture of this with someone's arm in it to show just how large it is. If you look above the hand, those are full-sized 8.5"x11" papers which will give you a good idea of the size. Those binders contained collections in the Silent Auction. The top left was a collection of 20 Detroit programs, The Body Press, which I would have liked to have won. The collection on the right was a stack of "old" wrestling magazines.

This was one of the items in the Silent Auction which I thought was really cool. There are actually three items, all from the Sgt. Slaughter Celebrity Golf Tournament. There is the Golf Bag, an autographed banner and a specially made First Place Championship Belt that was specially made for the tournament. It didn't say who donated it, and the last time I looked, the high bid was $300. If I was working, I would have bought it, and I don't play golf! I don't know how I would have stuffed it in my suitcase though.

This is another golf bag from the Silent Auction. This one was autographed by a bunch of wrestling stars. Here are the names in order: Nick Bockwinkle, Red Bastien, Butcher Vachone, Jimmy Valiant, Killer Tim Brooks, Jack Brisco, Gordon Nelson, Stan Nielson (?), Sir Oliver Humperdink, Killer Kowalski, and "Mad Dog" Vachon.

This little ashtray was also a silent auction item. It says Grunt & Groan on the front edge of the bowl. Someone guessed it was from the Houston office of Promoter Paul Boesch, but I have no idea if that is true. The last I checked the high bid for this was $50 or $55.

Every year at the reunion, CAC sells raffle tckets at the Saturday Banquet for a Championship Belt, specially made each year for the Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion. It is worth over $2100 and is donated by JMAR Championship Belts in Ohio. The belt was beautiful! The winner was Bob Verhey shown her with wrestler Peggy Patterson. I don't know Bob, but everyone else there did. When he stood up after his number was called, everyone was saying, "Bobby won, Bobby won!"
