Warning: You are going to get real tired of seeing me in every picture, but you are looking at a real Mark's scrapbook!

This is a view of the crowd on one side of the ring during the Baloney Blowout on Friday evening. There were six or eight matches that evening presented by young wrestlers in wrestling schools and independent promotions from around the United States. Can you imagine what it must have been like to wrestle in front of a room full of wrestling stars? They did a great job and the pros watching were an appreciative crowd. It was a lot of fun and people were up real late.

During the Boloney Blowout, I sat with Freddy Baron and his wife. Fred wrestled for Roy Shire in the very early years of Roy's promotion. He told me a lot of stories about his experiences wrestling for Roy and he was a lot of fun to talk to. I am going to post more about him on this site in the future.

It was a real thrill to see Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon and his brother, Paul "The Butcher" Vachon. These guys were so nice, you would never know they were two of the meanest, nastiest wrestlers around when I was a kid. Paul wrote a book called When Wrestling Was Real. You can write the Butcher to order a copy at and order T-shirts and autographed photos, too.

This is Killer Bee B. Brian Blair. He was in all of the newspapers last November when he barely lost an election in Florida. He was not considered a strong contender by his opponent, and he made a surprisingly good finish, losing by very few votes. I asked him if he was going to run for public office again and he said he was. You heard it here first! Brian wrote the book Smarten up! Say It Right! which teaches readers the special words used only in the wrestling business as well as some great lessons in speaking Carny, that language wrestlers use to talk to each other so fans can't understand it. It is a great little book, and if you would like to speak like they do in the business you will find this book fascinating.

The Destroyer, Dick Beyer donned his mask for pictures. People said we would make a good tag team -- he was using a walker because he was recovering from recent hip surgery and I was hopping around on a cane from back surgery. I think Dick is saying he will go in for the first fall.
