CAC President Red Bastien and me (Vik Berry) at the Baloney Blowout Friday evening at the Plaza Hotel. The last time I saw Red was at the TV station in Sacramento, CA in 1973 (I think!) That is my brand new Cauliflower Alley Club Belt Buckle on my belt.

Ed "Moondog" Moretti and me taken Friday morning at the Wrestling Memorabilia Fair. The last time I saw Ed was at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. It was March, 1973, and Ed was at ringside and only 13 years old! I was 17 years old and it was my last trip to the Cow Palace before taking off with Frankie Cain and his family for parts unknown.

I took this photo Thursday evening before the Reunion actually started on Friday. Nick Bockwinkle set up his ring at the hotel and young wrestlers from all over the country came to the reunion this year to work out with many of the pros from the past. They got some great training and tips from many wrestling stars who showed up early. They were all given some good advice about how to hold a guy in a headlock, covering his mouth so he can talk to you -- how to walk around the ring like you own it -- how to do a back flip to get out of an arm lock, and a lot more. The young guys paired off for three minute matches taking turns putting each guy over, and then lots of suggestions from the pros who were helping out. It was really fascinating, and it was the only part of the reunion I forgot to videotape! I stood there the whole time with the camera in my hand listening to it all. Harley Race (where the V in my first name is) Les Thatcher (look for the B in my last name) and Bruce Hart (standing in the ring in dark blue) are working with the younger generation in this photo.
