Action Photos 3

This is Joe Corea on the left, and Pat Patterson. You tell me what happened here! It looks like they they both tried to do a flying dropkick at the same time? Referee Frank Nocetti is the guy still on his feet.

Pat Patterson was seriously cut during this Steel Cage Match in Sacramento.

Hank Renner announces NWA World Tag Team Champions Billy Graham and Pat Patterson (wearing the mask) but not before Billy poses for my camera! This was a big show in Sacramento.

Ray Stevens goes after Billy Graham as referee Frank Nocetti watches.

The Masked Gladiator (Ricky Hunter) needed a police escort to get into the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

While they were the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Pat Patterson and Billy Graham, often wore masks so they could use foriegn objects to headbutt their opponents. They are working over Pepper Martin at Channel 40. I am still looking for a couple great pictures I have of them loading the objects in their masks. I found one of them after a show in Stockton and it was a hotel-sized bar of soap wrapped in medical adhesive tape.

Argentine Apollo body slams Enforcer #1 (Clyde Steeves) on Big Time Wrestling.

Pat Patterson throws Argentine Apollo out of the ring as The Masked Gladiator holds on to Buddy Moreno (who was known in other areas as The Red Menace under a mask and as Omar Atlas.) His brother was wrestler Cyclone Negro (Eddie Lalo). Thanks Ed Moretti for that info! This photo is from late 1969 or 1970.

I really like this photo of Pat Patterson, at San Francisco's Cow Palace, leaping off the top rope with his "Bomb's Away" finish on Mr. Paul DeMarco. Pat was one of the best in the business for highspots. He was flying off the top rope before today's stars could spell WWF.
.
.

Crazy Luke Graham was preparing to jump off the top rope before Pat Patterson sneaked up behind and knocked him down. This was part of the action in a six-man tag team match at the Cow Palace.

Haystacks Calhoun did an interview after his win on Big Time Wrestling with Hank Renner. Calhoun had come out to our territory for the 1973 18-Man Battle Royal at the Cow Palace which was won by The Great Mephisto.

This is Sandy Parker. She made the rounds through Roy's territory doing mixed Big/Little Woman's Matches with her partner Darling Dagmar. They wrestled Toni Rose and Diamond Lil every night. I remember her (and all four women) as being very friendly and a fun group.
.
.

Darling Dagmar was Sandy Parker's partner.

I forget what Hank Renner used to call this where one team started "rowing a boat" with the other team. Ricky Hunter, Gerry Monti and Paul Diamond (?) are getting the better of Ripper Collins, Pat Patterson and Billy Graham. Referee Jack Holloway is trying to restore some order in the ring.
