Krippler Karl Heisinger towers over Il Kim Kintaro Oki at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles during a 1970 match for the Asian Heavyweight Championship. Heisinger also wrestled for Roy Shire in 1970. I received this photo from Heisinger's nephew, Brian Peterson who is looking for photos, information or stories about his uncle from wrestlers who knew him or fans who remember him. Contact Brian at if you have any photos or information about Karl Heisinger.

Brian Peterson also gave me this photo of his uncle Karl Heisinger trying to get a submission out of Don Morrow. Heisinger worked for Roy Shire in 1970.

Jim Fitzpatrick sent me this photo he took of Lonnie Mayne climbing into the Cow Palace ring with some extra hardware. Who is having a better time? Lonnie or the audience?

Here is Promoter John Swenski waiting for the show to start. He was in Stockton that night to act as the announcer for Promoter Louie Miller. See that ticket in his hand? That is the free ticket he always carried around for Ed "Moondog" Moretti. You can get the full story about John and Ed at the San Francisco section of the Kayfabe Memories Message Board.

I took this at the Cow Palace during one of Roy's 18-Man Battle Royals. It is either 1972 or 1973, I am trying to figure that out. From left to right: Ray Stevens on the top rope, being helped over the edge by John Tolos. Behind them looks like Pat Patterson and ??. In the center, Paul Diamond has a headlock on Don Carson; Kinji Shibuya is right behind Carson. Then Referee Bob Beedle, Pepper Gomez, Roger Kirby Peter Maivia (sitting on the mat) and Rocky Johnson being held in the corner by Mr. Paul DeMarco. Anyone have better guesses?

From left to right: Haystack Calhoun holding Kinji Shibuya, Referee Bob Beedle. Center: Paul Diamond, someone and Ricky Hunter and throwing Pepper Gomez over the top rope. Pat Patterson is throwing Don Carson over the top rope. Peter Maivia is behind Roger Kirby is being thrown into a turnbuckle by Rocky Johnson. Paul DeMarco is laying down on the ring apron.

From left to right: (There are too many blondes!) Kinji Shibuya, Ray Stevens peeking behind Kinji, Pepper Gomez, John Tolos in his Frankenstein approach, Don Carson, Roger Kirby, Terry Garvin (?), Referee Bob Beedle, Pat, Rocky Johnson, Paul Diamond, Mr. Paul DeMarco still laying on the ring apron. Any other guesses?

Ripper Collins was so cool. Who else could carry on a long, drawn-out argument with Referee Frank Nocetti and choke his opponent to death without working up a sweat? Does anyone recognize that poor guy tied up in the ropes? This was taken at the Stockton Civic Auditorium. I just realized this was taken the same night I took that photo of John Swenski with the poster, so that must be Pepper Martin.
