Terry Garvin rips at Antonio Parisi's face on Big Time Wrestling. In the late 1970's, Garvin began promoting wrestling shows in Redding and other cities for Roy.

Antonio Parisi now has the advantage over Terry Garvin as Earl Maynard jumps in to assist.

I can't believe I do not remember the guy's name who is kicking Rocky Johnson because he was a really nice guy. In my defense though, he did not wrestle here for Roy for too long. Anyone know? Frank Nocetti is the referee.

Rocky "Soulman" Johnson gets up though, and his revenge is a body slam.

Rocky Johnson wins by really putting on the pressure with his Boston Crab finish.

I ran up to the balcony of the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium during intermission to take a picture of this sellout crowd. It was much smokier in there than it looks in this photo. The edge of the ring to the left is where I sat with Hank Renner, and the timekeeper's table is at the left ringpost in this photo. The corner at the front is the heel's corner, and the babyface wrestlers stood in the far corner. The wrestlers walked to the ring down the aisle up to the front corner of the ring (the heel's corner) and if you look closely, you can see the only steps leading up to the ring. The huge Auditorium stage was to the left of the photo. The main event that sold-out this house is in the next photo.

This was Dr. Ken Ramey's debut as a wrestler in the territory. He had already been hoisted into the air in the small cage (see the Memorable Matches page) and fans were ready to see the good Doctor get his butt beat bad. It is really hard to describe the anticipation and excitement in the building that night. The fans wanted him to get slapped around and crippled so bad, it was all they could think about that night. This was a six-man tag team bout, Mr. Paul DeMarco, Dr. Ken Ramey and Pat Patterson (under the hood.)

Dr. Ken Ramey introduces Billy Graham on Big Time Wrestling. His oponent is Irish Pat Barrett. Sitting at the front table is Hank Renner, Pepper Martin and Dr. Richard Russell. Ringside Rosie is in the right corner of the seats.

The Great Mephisto (Frankie Cain) grew up in the Middle East where the mystical arts were learned by many. I took some photos of him using hypnosis on a rat using a piece of cheese and his powers. It was really amazing to see! ;-)

The Great Mephisto was in contact with the dead years before John Edwards could spell ghost. His head was cut open in a match a night or two before I took these pictures. You can see the cut on his forehead.

Dean Ho "knocks the spit" of of Don Muraco during a match at the Cow Palace. This photo and the next two were sent in by photographer and San Francisco Bay Bombers Roller Derby star Jim Fitzpatrick.

Jim Fitzpatrick also took this photo of Don Muraco and Dean Ho at the Cow Palace that Allan Bolte used on the cover of Action Wrestling. The photo was taken during a Lumberjack Match. That is Antonio Rocca and Lonnie Mayne watching at ringside.

#3 Jim Fitzpatrick was a skater on the San Francisco Bay Bombers -- our local Roller Derby team back in the 1970s! Says Jim:: "The photo of me doing a missed jump block was taken in 1981 at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento. Whirl Grey is the Braves jammer."
