Taken 2005 June 21 from the summit of Beinn Bhiorach.

This view of the Cape Mabou Highlands gives one a good idea of the kind of terrain the trail system traverses. MacKinnon’s Brook Lane, also called the Beyond the Mountain (“Cul Na Beinne”) Trail, snakes through the cleft, following MacKinnon’s Brook for a good part of the way. You can follow MacKinnon’s Brook Lane as it goes round the mountain in the right foreground of the photo (unnamed in the CMTC map and in the Nova Scotia Atlas—its coastal flank abuts Fair Alistair (“Beinn Alasdair Bhain”)) and back around to the Mabou Post Road Trail Head (not visible in this picture).
