| This lovely singing brook runs along a good part of the Beyond the Mountain (“Cul Na Beinne”) Trail, also known as MacKinnon’s Brook Lane. This picture is taken from the wooden bridge, painted white, less than half a kilometer (but a good stiff climb) from the col where the Bear Trap (“Trap à Mhathain”) Trail and the Edge of the Valley (“Oir à Ghlinne”) Trail meet the Beyond the Mountain Trail. About ten minutes hike from here towards the Mabou Post Road Trail Head, the brook crosses MacKinnon’s Brook Lane under another wooden bridge where I love to sit and listen to its song. It then follows the Lane singing merrily away until it crosses the Mabou Coal Mines road just after the Mabou Post Road Trail Head and eventually flows into the Gulf at Mabou Coal Mines. |
