Beinn Bhiorach’s summit is at the left of this picture, which shows the col mentioned earlier to its right. It also shows why going in from the Cape Mabou Trail Head involves much less climbing than other routes, since that route takes one over the mountain whose crest is at the center of the picture. The signposts mark the junction of the Beyond the Mountain (“Cul Na Beinne”) Trail with Fair Alistair’s Mountain (“Beinn Alisdair Bhain”) Trail; the former is another name for MacKinnon’s Brook Lane itself. If one leaves the Lane at the signs, one will arrive at MacKinnon’s Brook Trail Head in about a minute; from there, it’s only about three minutes to the Meadows.
