The Local Group of Deep Sky Observers was formed in the summer
of 1983, an experiment conceived by Vic Menard and Dennis Plews at the
eyepiece of an old 13.1-inch Coulter Odyssey Dobsonian telescope. An
astronomy club without officers, without by-laws, with no agenda other
than to enjoy the deep sky, the Group continues to provide a venue for
amateur astronomers to commit astronomy!
