General Theory on Jusenkyo

When something drowns at Jusenkyo it creates a spring of that species. If a second member of that species drowns it becomes more specific. This can be seen in the cannon. The Shonmaoniichuan turned Genma into a male panda, the Heituenniichuan turned Ryoga into a male piglet, the Maoniichuan turned Xian Pu/Shampoo into a female cat, etc. All were general species springs, not gender specific. This also works for gender within a species. For example the Nyannichuan makes someone look like they would if they had been born a girl, but when Akane was 'drowned' to create the Akaneniichuan it made a spring that was specific about the form, the cursed person would look like Akane. As more members of a species drown at Jusenkyo it gets more specific about the curse. This would help to explain the personality curses, which affect not only form but personality as well.

Theory of Mixing Curses and Cures

It's held in the cannon that taking a dip in the Nannichuan/Nyannichuan will cure someone of their curse. It's also shown that the curses can be mixed. So how does this work? My theory is that once a curse has stabilized it can be replaced by another curse if the person or animal is dunked in that water while in their natural form. However, dunking them while in cursed form will mix the new curse with any preexisting curses. 'Curing' the curse by bathing in the Nannichuan/Nyannichuan works by replacing the existing curse or curses with a cursed form the same as the natural form. However, the water attraction part of the curse would still remain.
