Images of Wales: John Ball's excellent photography of places in Wales. It features some permanent sites plus an option to request a week-long display of a site which was featured in the past. You may choose from the many pages he has created during the last decade or so.

In Pictures: Your Wales: This section of the BBC website features photos of Wales submitted by various individuals. Each set is featured for one week. An archive link allows view of past features.

Light Capture: Mari Sterling is an excellent photographer who really knows how to use light to her advantage. Here she shares photos of the Welsh landscape, mostly in color, but also some in black and white. $

Llanegwad: Llanegwad, a rural parish located in the center of Carmarthenshire, is not well known in Wales, almost unknown outside of Wales. This home page has several links, each one telling about the area and several including photographs.

Merthyr Road: Part of Stuart Herbert's collections on "flickr™," here you will find hundreds of excellent photos exploring the journey between Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil, both modern and historic.

Neath, Glamorgan - Images and History: These pages give some Images and Historical information relating to the author's home town. Much of this he has researched as background information to his own study of Family History and will give useful information to others researching ancestors in the Neath area.

Newport Past: Excellent resources for anyone researching this area. The site not only contains a gallery of images but also has links to old newspapers, a chronicle and a history.

Old UK Photos: This is a new non commercial website, launched in July 2006. The idea is to display old photographs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The majority of the photographs date from the 1890's and 1900's. Most topographical photographs in those days were taken by photographers working for postcard companies, so many of the images are scanned from old postcards.

Percy Benzie Abery (1877-1948): P B Abery originated from Folkestone, in Kent. He came to live in Builth Wells in 1898. When he was only 21 he bought a small photography business, and in 1911 he moved to larger premises, the West End Studio, where he remained until his death in 1948. During the summer, P B Abery would make his living by taking photographs of the people who came to visit the Wells, and enjoyed nothing better than roaming the countryside taking photographs of views and rural life around Breconshire, Radnorshire and the Border Counties.
