My name is Venita Parry Roylance. I was born in Provo, Utah, USA, in 1939 and have lived in Utah all my life (but I've visited lots of other places). I'm divorced, have five children and 14 grandchildren.

I'm a retired elementary school teacher, planning to spend the rest of my life doing family history research, taking photos, writing and doing whatever I want that doesn't involve having to wake up to an alarm clock. Well, that was the original plan, but it's not quite reality. I still get up to the alarm clock some mornings and go to the Family History Training Center where I teach others how to do their family history research. It's a great way to be retired!

New family photos were taken in April 2010 at the Maxfield home in American Fork on the occasion of the return of Elder Cory Maxfield from serving an LDS mission in Toronto, Canada. Andy and Danna were not there, unfortunately. They were probably at a pre-scheduled mud race. (See Andy's box below.)

Syd's family. the Snows, continue to live in Washington County, now in the town of Ivins, home of the Tuacahn Theater. The two oldest boys, Ryan and Derrick are on their own and each one has moved into his own place in St. George. Ryan is in the automotive service business. Derrick is working at various jobs and hoping to be able to get back to college. Chazz is in 8th grade and hoping to become a pastry chef someday. Mitchell attends the Vista charter school, which focuses on performing arts. He hopes to make 'show biz' his profession. Mark still works in the auto parts business, and Syd continues to work at the Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Leslie's family, the Maxfields, continue to live in American Fork, and the children are nearly grown. Chris has completed his LDS mission and is getting training for a profession in digital design. Cory completed his LDS mission in April and recently joined the Utah National Guard. He hopes to eventually work with Black Hawk helicopters. Erin graduated high school and now attends Snow College, learning how to live away from home while making tons of new friends. Chase attends American Fork high school and will likely be the tallest member of the family. Ross is an electrical engineer for Cisco company in Lindon, and Leslie enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and play-date scheduler for Doug, the dog.

Alex's family lives in Springville in a new neighborhood which was farmland just a few years ago. He enjoys his work as the city Building and Grounds superintendant, and the city forester. Tanya is a stay-at-home mom who contributes to the family income by being an Independant Consultant for Scentsy Flameless Candles. The children attend elementary school. Rachel, 6th grader, is learning to play a cello along with the piano. Ellie, in 4th grade, loves being with her many friends. Ben, in 2nd grade is getting better and better at the things he loves. Check out Tanya's blog.

Tom's family also lives in Springville. He is home from Iraq to stay, and is working at two jobs for the time being. Heather is a stay-at-home mom, and the boys all attend the Reagan Academy, a local charter school. Mike is in 8th grade and interested in the sciences. Zander is in 6th grade, enjoys reading science fiction, and is a talented artist. Joshua is in 2nd grade and becoming a super soccer player.

Andy and Danna live in Provo with their three dogs, Sarah, Jack, and Macie, with Danna as their stay-at-home "mom." Andy works with Springville Power department. They both enjoy participating in mud racing during the summer months, competing in Utah and the surrounding states. Andy helps keep the trucks and cars in racing condition, and Danna is the videographer and a sometimes driver. Her family, the Evanses, have been involved in the sport for several years, and are frequently race winners. Their company is called "Chaos Racing." You may see some of Danna's videos of races on YouTube.

Smokey is my full-time companion. He is not a snuggle cat, except at bedtime when he sleeps right next to me, but on top of the covers. He is now 11 years old, and still in good shape for such an old guy. He is less frisky, and not as playful as he once was, but he still collects the plastic rings from milk jugs and shoves them under the stove. He usually stays near me when I'm home. In this photo he is guarding my laptop and a gameboard on the coffee table while I rest on the sofa and watch tv.
