| Dearie, do you remember when...? It seems
like a long time ago, yet it seems like just last week, doesn't it? How about sharing some of
your favorite photos and memories of our years at dear old Provo High School. Here are some
memory triggers:
|
- The front steps on the old high school
- Lowered cars
- Girls wearing lots of ruffled slips and full-circle skirts
- Boys belting their pants just above their hip bones
- Sock dances in the afternoon
- Jantzen sweaters
- 1956 State Basketball championship
- Saying farewell to the old buildings
- Moving into the new building (now 50 years old!)

I'll start us
off with the old School Song and the new Fight Song. Do you remember them?
(If you can record the music with a midi or
something and send it to me, I'll make a link so we can hear the music while we all sing along.)
SCHOOL SONG
Hail to thee, Provo High School we love!
May we e're be true to thee.
We hold thee all treasures above.
And our hearts will loyal be
To our school, to our standards and aims
Bound by honor's sacred tie
To friendships, e're we claim
All hail to thee dear Provo High.
No banner more glorious is seen
With its folds against the sky.
Purest white and the truest of green,
Emblems of our Provo High.
Lassies gay and the bravest of men,
Here for honor each will vie.
We'll live, love, work and then
All hail to thee, dear Provo High!

by Clyde D. Sandgren (Written in honor of the new
High School)
Hail, Provo High!
To you our hearts will e'er be true.
Proudly we fly
Our colors high up in the blue.

With al your might for victory.

Please contribute! If you
have a photo to go with your story, please include it. If not, I'll try to find something in
the '55, '56, or '57 yearbook that will work. Many Thanks!!
