Joyce used to own and operate Royal Cigar, a name known in the Atlanta area for many, many years. While the brick and mortar smoke shop is no longer, Joyce continues to supply the area, as well as many parts of the world, with great tobacco through her mail order online business, Tobacco Supermarket. I hope you enjoy this podcast.

A Conversation with Frank Burla

Frank_Burla
Frank is the main coordinator for the Chicoagoland Pipe Show. He gives us the lowdown on the events as well as some other neat bits of information. Frank is pictured here with a 1930s Dunhill advertisement pipe, which he claims is unsmokable. (My questions are: 1. How many times did he try to smoke it? and, 2. Is the pipe really big, or is Frank just really small?)

An Interview with Bjarne Nielsen

In Memory
I'm deeply saddened to hear the news of Bjarne Nielsen's passing. He passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2008 of a heart attack...the interview available here was recorded on January 17, 2008. He was a real joy to interview. He was a lively, fun, personable and passionate fellow with so much to share. He will be sorely missed by all of the folks he has touched over the years. He has given the pipe community so much for so long and was a true ambassador of pipes and tobacco. His legacy is great and will continue to live on with us. Please join me in smoking some of Bjarne's favorite tobacco "The Gentle One" (formerly called The Mild One, but renamed because of government reglulations) and having some puffs in his honor.

Our First Episode: An Interview with Bjarne Nielsen

Bjarne Nielsen is a world-famous pipe carver from Denmark, who of course, owns Bjarne Pipes, Ltd. Hear what Bjarne has to say about handmade vs. machine made pipes, how he started, and lots of other great stories. Click here for the podcast.
