Fall Fishing Report  Updated  12-1-09

Here are some of the latest great catches caught aboard Off  The Hook this Fall!

Redfish

The Redfishing has been excellent the past few weeks on the low tide flats. They are a great fish to catch whether using spinning or fly gear and have been averaging 2-10 lbs. Large Bull Reds have also been running as well near the sandbars and nearshore artifical reefs. These bulls have been averaging 20 - 35 lbs!!

Speckled Trout

Trout action is really starting to pick up and the next few weeks should be great. My clients have been catching good numbers of  trout averaging 1-2lbs. occasionaly up to 3-4 lbs. They are lots of fun on light spinning  gear and also a blast on the fly. An excellent eating fish as well.

Sheepshead

Sheepshead have been starting to bite inshore near bridges and around old dock pilings. They are a hard fightging fish that usally average 2-5 lbs but not uncommon to reach over 10 lbs. Good Eats!

Flounder

Flounder are running in the  inshore creeks with fish usually 1- 3 lbs.  They are a little more random to catch but I have already caught a few in the past few weeks and expect action to get better as the water temperature drops.
