"I love this program - thanks!" - B.
"You ROCK!" -P

What is MobileSync Browser?
MobileSync Browser (MSB) allows you view the backup files iTunes creates from your iPhone. Everytime you synch your phone, iTunes keeps a local copy of the information contained in your iPhone's SMS and Notes applications as well as your recent call history. MSB allows you to refer to these files and copy the information for archive or reference purposes. You do not have to jailbreak the phone or even have it present/connected.
Since contacts and photos can and should be synched/displayed by other applications, MSB concentrates on SMS, Notes and Call Logs, which are not normally accessible/viewable on the host computer.
MSB is not designed to be a data-recovery tool. However, I have an intimate knowledge of how data is stored and moved in and out of the iPhone; I am available for consultations- if you have a special situation; just outline it in an
email and I will contact you.

MSB is as its name implies, first and foremost a browser. The registered version however; lets you easily:
Maintain a permanent running archive
Copy records to the Clipboard
Export records for use in other programs!

MobileSyncBrowser is provided AS-IS for personal, non-commercial use only.

If you tried the free version and are satisfied with its functionality, you can get a registration code to make MSB even more useful! Currently, all I ask is that you make a sensible* donation via Paypal.

*IMPORTANT: Please be fair and consider the many hours it takes to program and support this application: If this program is useful to you, I think I deserve a few imported beers or even a nice meal, if MSB got you out of a big problem. Also:

• Donations are specified in US Dollars: bear this in mind if you are in the Euro-zone.

• Donations are processed personally in order of amount! Should you choose to make a $1 donation; be prepared to wait a long time.

You will first be emailed a receipt from Paypal; the transaction number is NOT the registration code. Your key will be e-mailed to your Paypal address. Donations will not be refunded.

Minor cosmetic fixes.

30.01.2008 v0.8.11
Fixes issues archiving SMS messages from version 1.1.3 iPhones.
Definitive fix for
the 'last 4' bug where similar numbers may cause MSB to label items with the wrong contact name.
This fix also consolidates conversations with slight formatting differences in the phone number (i.e. dial prefixes and country codes). This would cause MSB to split messages to/from a contact into multiple conversations
Includes a slightly modifed css file so Windows users can see the message timestamps. If upgrading from previous versions, Windows users should delete the existing com.macsupport-pr.vIDT.IE6.css preference file. See manual for location of this file.

24.05.2008 v0.8.15
First release with separate Mac Intel and PPC builds.
Compares timestamp on backups to avoid unnecessary rescans.
Text files export correctly with UTF-8 encoding to support non-Roman scripts (
Registered)
HTML exports are redirected to a browser for saving and/or printing (Registered)
SMS: Rolling over Contact Name near title bar will now display 'tool tip' with unformatted
number to troubleshoot 'split' conversations
Cosmetic bug with Export button label addressed to hopefully reduce confusion.

.

Corrects 'Contacts only' scanning error.

ERRATA (Known Issues)
NOTES: Only imports new notes, does not recognize edited notes.
SMS: Unregistered Mac versions will not display timestamps in SMS conversations. PC versions do not display timestamp. This only affects display, exporting as text is not affected. The rollover 'feature' will likely be eliminated so timestamps display consistently accross platforms.
