Winner of 8 Danish Academy Awards including Best Film and Best Director, King’s Game is the hugely acclaimed Danish thriller, directed by Nikolaj Arcel and adapted from the novel by Neils Krause-Kjaer. It is about power and what it ultimately does to people. The film tells the story of a young, ambitious journalist Ulrik Torp who is assigned the job of parliamentary reporter for a top Danish newspaper and uncovers a ruthless conspiracy that involves the country’s incumbent Prime Minister. He becomes obsessed with bringing the truth to light. But neither his colleagues nor the politicans are willing to listen to him and he finds himself battling against the people in power. As election day draws nearer, Ulrik has to face the power elite on his own.
