A gentle, romantic film about an unlikely friendship and the art of cooking. Gregor (Josef Ostendorf), a chef who owns a small restaurant, likes to spend his spare time in a street cafe. He develops a fondness for the waitress, Eden (Charlotte Roche) and her young daughter, Leonie (Leonie Stepp), who has Down's Syndrome. After Gregor makes a birthday cake for Eden, using his own homemade chocolate, Eden starts to visit him at his restaurant to sample more of his cuisine and a close, platonic relationship grows between them. But as Eden's marriage to Xaver (Devid Streisow) flourishes and she becomes pregnant Xaver starts to grow jealous of Gregor, which leads to a confrontation between them. Gregor decides to leave town but not before trying to see Eden one last time.
