Selecting a Race
The following races may be selected without prior approval:

| Elf | Duergar (Dark Dwarf) | Halfling |
| Drow (Dark Elf) | Gnome | Kender |
The following mixed races may also be selected without prior approval (note that "half" assumes that the half not mentioned is human, and that "mixed" means that both parents were of the same basic type - mixed elf could be be high elf and drow, for example, but not high elf and duergar):

The following races must be approved prior to character creation:
| Half-Demon | Half-Angel |
| "Elite" Human | Dragon |
| Pixie, Fairy, or other "Fey" race. | Half-Dragon |
| Non-intelligent normal animals (Dogs, cats, horses, etc) | Draconian |
| Svirfneblin (Deep Gnomes) | Wyverns or other Dragon-kin |
| Mythical Creatures (Unicorns, Griffons, etc) | Lizard-men |
The following races will NOT be allowed:
| Angel | Undead** |
| Demon | Were-creatures** |
| Deity* | Elemental, |
| Robots, Androids, or Cyborgs | Genies, Djinn, and other wish-granting entities. |
* Deities should not be confused with the Avatar class. Avatars will still maintain their normal race.
** Undead and Lycanthrope are not recognized as races in this forum; rather, they are conditions. Even still, no character may take on such a condition without express prior permission from the forum council.
