Player Code of Conduct

While the Character Code of Conduct allows for varying levels of morality, the Player Code of Conduct has no reason to do so. Every player should read and agree to this Code of Conduct before joining, and no player should break this code of conduct for any reason.

It should be noted that the itemized list below is considered an OOC document; it cannot be discussed in-game and all punishments will be assigned between players, not between characters.

  • Players will treat Forum Council members with respect. It is not required that players "like" or be friends with the Council members, but players will be civil at all times. Rudeness or insubordination will be punished on a level fitting the offense.

  • Players will not do anything to gain access to other players' screennames or accounts without permission. Anyone found to be playing on another player's screenname without permission will immediately have all their characters removed from the Registry and be blacklisted.

  • Players found lying in their forum applications about age or playing experience may be punished as appropriate; players found lying in their forum applications in any capacity as an attempt to circumvent a blacklisting will have their new characters removed from the registry and, depending on the circumstances, may be reported to AOL as a Terms of Service Violation.

  • Should two (or more) players have a dispute about an in-game event, and it becomes problematic for other players, the Forum Council will require them to settle it *in-game* in the form of an Honor Match or a Death Match. Should any of the players refuse to do this, they will be put on a Leave of Absence for no more than two weeks. Any player who has not resolved their dispute after those two weeks, or who persists in pursuing the dispute during the Leave of Absence, will be asked to leave the forum of their own volition. Any player who does not do so will be removed from the Registry and blacklisted.

  • Should two (or more) players have a dispute about an OOC issue, and it becomes problematic for other players, the Forum Council will offer a binding arbitration. The players may then choose either to abide by the Council's ruling or leave the forum of their own volition. Any player who does not do so will be removed from the Registry and blacklisted.

  • Cross-roleplaying is not acceptable in this forum. While it is easy for players to have accidents and play with information their characters do not know, every player in this forum should strive to avoid it whenever possible. If several complaints are made to the Forum Council about a particular player cross-roleplaying, that player will receive a warning - if it continues, the player will have all their characters removed from the registry and be blacklisted.

  • Should a player have a character which is antagonizing or exceedingly abrasive or violent must recognize that, while they are "just playing their character", any response that they receive from other characters - death threats, assassination attempts, lynching, etc - is equally fair. A player whose character is widely hated will find no mercy or recourse from the Forum Council -- you reap what you sow.
