Descriptions of Intermediate Character Classes

There are six intermediate classes in the Eventide forum.

Arcane KnightStats: Might, Wits
The Arcane Knight, sometimes also called a Mage Knight or a Sorceror Knight, is a Warrior trained in both weaponsmastery and spellcasting. Typically, the weapon of an Arcane Knight is the sword, but there have been axe-wielding Arcane Knights as welll. As a result of this fusion of weaponry and sorcery, it is not uncommon to see Arcane Knights with weapons engraved all over with runes, so that the weapons may be used to aid them in both pursuits.

It is worth noting that there also exists a tribe of Arcane Monks, who use either Staves or their bare hands as their weapon of choice. Even the Arcane Monks that fight with their bare hands, however, typically tattoo runes all over their hands and arms.

PaladinStats: Might, Faith
The Paladin is effectively a Swordsman Priest. By perfecting both their swordsmanship and their spiritual powers, they hope to become closer to the Deity they serve. Paladins serve as popular role models for those of Lawful inclination, second only to Templars.

SlayerStats: Might, Stealth
The Slayer is typically a hired killer. Though often preferring to stalk their target and strike from the darkness, the Slayer is usually also strong enough to confront a victim head-on when need be. Slayers often make good assassins, although they have also been known to hire on as bounty hunters or even bodyguards.

ProphetStats: Wits, Faith
The Prophet is in some ways a spokesman, but is also a powerful shaman. By a combination of prayer and sorcery, the Prophet attempts to divine the future and also win converts for their Faith. Although weaker Prophets are sometimes ridiculed and dismissed as frauds, a powerful Prophet can change the minds -- and sometimes even the fate -- of entire nations.

IllusionistStats: Wits, Stealth
The Illusionist takes sleight-of-hand to a new level. Although any common Rogue can perform tricks to fool the eye, the Illusionist uses a combination of trickery and sorcery to create illusions which can fool all the senses. Because they are so comfortable with hiding the true nature of things, maybe people fear that Illusionists cannot be trusted.

Dark PriestStats: Faith, Stealth
The Dark Priest is a follower of a sinister deity, who makes their dark practices known. In addition to manipulating reality by the power of prayer, the Dark Priest is also a practitioner of deception, often being a smooth talker and a master of disappearing into the shadows.
