Descriptions of Expert Character Classes

The classes below are ordered by stats; those with a primary stat of might come first, then wits, faith, and stealth in that order. You may browse through the entire list, or you may jump to the primary stat of your choice:

Might   |   Wits   |   Faith   |   Stealth

Classes for Might:

VigilantePrimary: MightSecondary: Faith, Stealth
The Vigilante is a self-appointed champion of morality, often bending or breaking the law in order to bring a "criminal" to justice. Their primary motivation is their sense of morality, regardless of whether society shares their view. Since the important matter is the ends -- and not the means -- the Vigilante is equally comfortable using Faith or Stealth to accomplish their goals. Often, however, they do not think about the consequences before they strike.

MercenaryPrimary: MightSecondary: Wits, Stealth
The Mercenary is a soldier for hire, loyal to the one who offers the best price. Most of the time, they rely on their Might to get them through the tough spots, but their Wits and Stealth are what separate them from the common warrior. Faith is often a luxury they cannot afford, as it might get in the way of keeping a particular job or employer - and the steady flow of cash that comes with it.

TemplarPrimary: MightSecondary: Wits, Faith
A knight of religious order, the Templar considers himself to be nothing more than an instrument to be used by the Divine. Rather than relying on the Divine to intervene for him, he chooses to strike out -- primarily with his Might -- to intervene for the Divine. He considers stealth to be beneath him, and does not resort to such tactics.

Classes for Wits:

AlchemistPrimary: WitsSecondary: Faith, Stealth
The primary goal of the Alchemist is to create things by transmutation - some alchemists specialize in potions and elixirs, others in talismans and charms. Some Alchemists study more complex - and somewhat darker - tasks, such as the creation of homonculi, golems, and even the Philosopher's Stone... known to some as the Soul of the World. Many alchemists believe that their sorcery is limited by the Law of Equivalent Exchange - that to create something, one must first sacrifice something of equal value.

TroubadourPrimary: WitsSecondary: Might, Stealth
The Troubadour is a traveling poet and songwriter, happiest when composing for the court of a high ranking lord. Unlike the choirs of the church, the Troubadour finds topics of a secular nature to be more inspiring - especially love. Similar to a bard or but usually of much higher standing, the Troubadour is so skilled with word and melody that they can create spell-like effects by weaving them together. As with any performer, however, the Troubadour knows that not every audience will appreciate his performance, and has worked hard at being able to defend himself or get out of harm's way, should the situation arise.

Miracle WorkerPrimary: WitsSecondary: Might, Faith
The Miracle Worker does his best to help others by whatever means he can - prayer, sorcery, or muscle. Most Miracle Workers perform this service for free, although a few charge nominal fees to ensure that they can maintain their practice. Because the services of a Miracle Worker can create more demand than one person can handle, many Miracle Workers become nomads - entering a new place, performing a few miracles, and then leaving for somewhere new. A few, however, settle in one place, taking on personalities similar to hermits or mountain gurus.

Classes for Faith:

CultistPrimary: FaithSecondary: Might, Stealth

Classes for Stealth:

False ProphetPrimary: StealthSecondary: Wits, Faith
The False Prophet leads a difficult and sinister lifestyle. The False Prophet spends all their time and energy attempting to mislead others from the truth to achieve their own goals. Sometimes this goal is to further the ambitions of a demonic deity, while others believe that they are testing the weak to make sure that only the true believers receive their rewards in the afterlife. Because a False Prophet has all the same powers as a Prophet, it can be almost impossible to tell them apart - even Templars and Saints have been taken in by their deceitful charms.

GamblerPrimary: StealthSecondary: Might, Faith
The Gambler treats life as one big game - literally. Gamblers trust in their superior luck to get them through average problems, but as any good game player knows, luck isn't everything. When circumstances don't turn out in their favor, Gamblers have the muscle and the dexterity to change their outcomes. Although Gamblers like to take the big risks, they also tend to be very generous towards their friends and companions when those risks pay off.

InfiltratorPrimary: StealthSecondary: Might, Wits
The Infiltrator exists as an imbodiment of stealth. Quite often, they are hired to enter a secure area, gather information or perform a given task, and then escape without incident. Make no mistake, however - the Infiltrator is not weakling. Although they are experts at avoiding confrontation, the Infiltrator is also highly skilled with combat and sorcery, making them dangerous opponents.
