Descriptions of Basic Character Classes
There are four basic classes in the Eventide forum -- one for each stat. If a player is truly a beginning player, they might want to consider choosing the Warrior or Mage classes as these are the easiest in which to gain experience.
| Warrior | Stat: Might |
| The Warrior is the embodiment of physical Might. Whether
fighting for the glory of their king, or killing others for the joy of bloodshed,
the Warrior class relies on little more than the strength of their body and the
well-crafted weapon they carry. Fighters, Gladiators, Soldiers, and Knights are
all examples of the Warrior class. |
| Mage | Stat: Wits |
| The Mage is the epitome of mind over matter. Using their innate
strength in Wits, Mages use sorcery to manipulate the fabric of reality around them.
Wizards, Sorcerors & Sorceresses, and Psychics are all examples of the Mage class. |
| Priest | Stat: Faith |
| The Priest is the living example of "If you believe something hard
enough, it will come to be." Through prayer and Faith, they persuade their deity to
change the world -- for better or worse. Shamans, Faith-healers, and Ministers are
all examples of the Priest class, but so are those who worship darker entities... be
careful in giving too much trust too early. |
| Rogue | Stat: Stealth |
| The Rogue personifies the idea that the hand is quicker than the
eye. The Rogue often uses this skill as their primary means of income, whether by winning
coin honestly by entertaining their targets, or more deviously by stealing it from them.
Thieves and Cutthroats are examples of the Rogue class, but so are Sleight-of-Hand
Performers, Tightrope Walkers, and sometimes Actors. |
