It's The Little Things, Part 4

More use of language, plugs, and again with the damned cell phones.

Some more Britishisms...

Like so many British terms/expressions/words, "Way Out" instead of "Exit" just seems more friendly to me. There is a willingness in England to use a few extra letters or older terms for common situations. There are no exit signs in the underground.

It seems you don't "deplane" or "detrain" in England, you "alight."

That said, some British expressions really are just odd. "The dog's bollocks" being one of them.

And no one can explain to me the derivation of this sign. They know what it means, but why it's called that no one seems to know.

Cell phone cameras are all the rage. I always saw them out at all of the shows.

The Brits also distrust electricity. Seriously. The plugs are huge - almost larger than the appliance in some cases. The plug has a fuse in it. The outlet has a fuse in it. The outlet has a switch on it. It takes quite a coordinated effort to iron a shirt.

But bless their hearts you'd never see Lee Scratch Perry's mad mug on Toronto phone booths.

British music has its low points (Cheeky Girls being a fine example), but they embrace a far wider range of music at a mainstream level than we do.
