Sunday - Coming Home

A sad goodbye and a happy welcome home.

I managed to cram all of my junk into my garment bag and we headed for Paddington Station. I should really have a picture in here of the "Heavy Bag" tag that got put on my luggage. I didn't realise I'd picked up so much crap while I was there.

The Heathrow Express is a train that runs directly from Paddington Station to Heathrow in 15 minutes, which is a treat on its own. But you can also check your bags at Paddington. You get a piece of paper that you take to the Executive Class counter at the airport (bypassing the poor schlubs in the main queue) to get your boarding pass. It's incredibly civilised and convenient.

Jane met Jerry and I at Paddington and we sat in the coffee shop chatting about train stations and what a great trip I had.

Then I boarded the Express and waved goodbye to my hosts. The look on Jane's face set off something in me too.

We took to the air and I said goodbye to England's green and pleasant land.

Many hours later we landed in Toronto and I finally collapsed into Nancy's waiting arms.
