Hawai'i 2003

For our 2nd Anniversary we visited Kauai'i and O'ahu. Kaua'i abounds with superlative beauty. O'ahu thrives as a cosmopolitan oasis in the Pacific.

In Kaua'i we stayed at the Hyatt where understated elegance is elevated to art.
View from the Hyatt lobby, yes you actually see this kind of thing everyday!
One of the many beaches that Kaua'i is blessed with. This one is located on the south shore next to the hotel.
This tree tunnel lines one of the highways. Only in Hawai'i have we seen highways so beautiful.
Our ride with Kahana II Trail Rides was one of the highlights of our trip!
Being amongst the mountains gave us a sense of peace and serenity.
Lisa marvels at the beauty of Kaua'i.
Two of us, together sharing our thoughts.
The path to infinite possibilities.
Here you can see part of the Keiki Cultural Show. The keiki's perform traditional dances from numerous Polynesian cultures. (Keiki is Hawaiian for children.)
Cuauhtemoc joins the hula show and shows the keikis a thing or two! :)
Opaekaa Falls... this is the first *real* waterfall we ever saw! :)
Wailua Falls, famous from the opening sequence of Fantasy Island.
We join hands at Wailua Falls.
Don't you almost feel relaxed just looking at this picture? In the distance you can see the island of Ni'ihau.
Hawai'i bursts with natural beauty.
This lookout gives you a wonderful view of Waimea Canyon.
Mark Twain called Waimea Canyon the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific".
Seeing this we were literally awestruck. These pictures only capture an infinitesimal amount of the wonder.
Also on the southern portion of Kaua'i is an area known as Poipu. This is where you'll find resorts and some of the most beautiful homes. And yes, that's a real lens flare! :)
The northern part of Kaua'i is home to Princeville. We thought this sort of view was only possible in postcards!
Together, forever, with love for each other.
Another postcard perfect setting!
A rainbow bids us farewell. In our hearts we long to remain.
We spent our last couple days in O'ahu. Here you can see the view from our lanai (Hawaiian for balcony) at Waikiki Parc.
Just before we enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal at our hotel. We ate so much good food we barely made it to the elevator back to our room!
By night O'ahu mixes urban energy with natural splendor.
The sky in Hawai'l seems more intense.
As the sun sets on Waikiki Beach we say "Aloha" to Hawai'i.
