| ryan heywood and trent burgar 2 young legends from the central/north coast of n.s.w head down to sydney to expose their wares at the china heights gallery insurry hills. this was heywoods first "illustration" exhibition at the heights, after a few amazing photo ehxhibits, this was a showpiece of a different kind. 3dimensional suitcases from surfboard resin, cut out wooden white collar super heros and oversize Camel ciggarette pakets (as canvas'). basically it was a combination of materials and applications on a variety of different surfaces. Protruding on the other side of the room trent burgar mounted a series of wooden boxes and canvases covered in his quirky little characters and ink illustrations.His characters were from another dimension (i honestly wonder what goes on in these lads minds???)The stuff was off the hook!! |
