The Card is Unusual Studios' fifth video project. Tyler Dykstra and Kyle Los worked on a music video and three short films before The Card.

Starting in early 2003, they wrote the script for The Card. They began shooting in June 2003 and began editing in August 2003.

The film was entered into an area film festival, where it was greeted with an enthusiastic standing ovation.
