And the verdict is: 18" top slots. Not 19" like the Como. But, the actual slot is about 1/4" above the cover slot. So real height is about 18.25". Subtract 0.25" for toddler pillow.

Notice something strange? It's not the same IMMI buckle as the RYS, Como, Britaxes and SKR. It's the DOREL one!!!!! And it's long... possibly too long.
Crotch pad. Obviously there was an oversight here. Recaro must have changed to the Dorel-style buckle at the last minute and not updated the crotch pad to work right with it. Notice that the crotch pad is too low for the buckle. The pad is nicelt designed, it has little wings that tuck down into the cover slot so it doesn't slide off easily.
