Here I am, 4 years old, carrying my transistor radio. I'm standing on the great lawn of my housing complex. (For you non-city folks, them's the projects).

Stats
Born in New York 50-plus years ago, I somehow escaped to the Land of Enchanted Queers (Nuevo Mexico) in 1988. There, I found the love of my life.
I'm a recovered Catholic, non-Spanish speaking chocolate-brown skinned nuyorican. I've been a vegetarian, a Lesbian separatist, a spirit maven and nature goddess. Somewhere in there I had a child, got my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and got a Medical Lab Tech degree. I admit I am an art and biology nerd.
Activities
Kris, my partner of more than 15 years (the love of my life previously mentioned) and I met two-stepping. We couple danced for several years, almost every weekend, then got very involved with modern western square dance. We dance with The Wilde Bunch, a gay group of Gay, Lesbian, bi, trans and straight square dance folk in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kris is a square dance caller for our group. We are also involved in folk dancing with FolkMADS and especially enjoy contra dancing. Kris has recently taken up contra dance calling as well!
I introduced Kris to square dancing and she introduced me to the Macintosh. Now I enjoy my time at the computer doing page layout, digital artwork and maintaining websites. And surfing!!! I believe everyone should have access to this fantastic medium of communication and information! Unfortunately, haven't given much time to my (traditional) artwork in recent years.
Being an outdoor person too, I try to keep a vegetable garden. I believe in growing organically using heritage and/or non-hybrid plants and seeds - though I may not always follow my own rules about this. I compost almost all my yard waste and freeze, can or dry the surplus produce. There is nothing like basil/tomato sauce in the middle of winter. In order to attract butterflies and other pollinating insects, and birds to my yard, I put out feed, and plant perennials and annuals. In Albuquerque, being an arid city, there are always water conservation issues.
Pets
Kris has long had dobermans and I've become very fond of the breed as well. At this time Kris and I have one companion dog: Riley, a red male doberman. Visit our Dogs page to read about our dobes and other dogs.
