Pluto is coming? 2-19-05
Not the Disney's character Mickey Mouse's dog, it's the planet Pluto. 75 years ago, Clyde Tombaugh found it and heralded as the 9th planet in the solar system. However, some astronomers has been thinking Pluto is a misbehaved planet if you want to think about it as a planet.
Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of New York's Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History, provocatively removed Pluto from his exhibit of planets five years ago, lumping it instead with a belt of comets at the edge of the solar system.
At the time it was discovered, Pluto was the only known object beyond Neptune in the solar system. When its moon, Charon, was spotted, that seemingly confirmed Pluto's planet status. But astronomers also have found about 1,000 other small icy objects beyond Neptune. There may be as many as 100,000 of these bodies in what's called the Kuiper Belt.
Well, I think scientists has to learn a lot more about it and there's a plan to launch a probe to Pluto next year.
*Above photo : Hubble Space Telescope image of Pluto and its satellite Charon. Pluto is 2390 km in diameter and Charon is 1190 km. The two bodies are so close in size they are often thought of as a double planet. At the time this image was taken the two bodies were at maximum elongation of 0.9 arc seconds. The bodies orbit 19,600 km apart. Pluto is the larger body to the lower left, Charon is at upper right.
Now you see, now you don't Feb.16, 05
Two bats are hanging in their cave. One turns to the other and says, "Oh, I'm really thirsty for some fresh blood." The other bat is amazed and says, "Well, it’s a bit late. Daylight is almost here, and we can't be exposed to any light - you know we'll die." "Yeah, I know," says the first bat, "but I'm really starving for it."
So he flies out of the cave and returns five minutes later with blood dripping from his mouth.
"You lucky thing. Where'd you find blood that quick?" asked the second bat.
"You see that tree over there in the distance?" mumbled the bat, his mouth full of blood.
"Yeah, I think I do!"
"Well, I didn't."
The numbers are down. Feb. 15, 05
Yes, that's right. My weight is going down and the number hit 70 kg (157 LB) in the first time since 2003. Hey, I start feeling much lighter and great. My old friend Sherry in New York sent me a beautiful message for the Valentine, I miss her a lot.

Japan beat North Korea 2-1 Feb. 10, 05
Last night's game vs. North Korea, the final round of World Cup qualifier in Asia, Japan scored a goal in the seconds before the whistle. The team Japan showed their guts out after 1-1 tie. The hero of the game, striker Oguro was picked for the national team in the last minuets changes. It was amazing and also the security was a kind of ridiculous to watch on TV. By the way, my old TV set is very funky, you see?
American Airline announced no more pillows. Feb.9, 05
For domestic flights, AA decided no pillows, but blankets are in. I think it means you got to bring your own pillow for sleep. The company saves some 300 grands a year.

I don't know what they say? Feb. 8, 05
Shame on me! I don't know what they say on this Japanese calligraphy. Does anyone know? I found it in my parents closet and I like it very much. Because there's no signature nor the stamp. It might be my granpa's writing?
