Find him
June 16, 2004 - permalink

The Los Angeles Police Department has posted pictures and a description of the man who was caught on video attempting to use my aunt's ATM card within hours of her death.

It's obviously a longshot posting this here (to say the least) but anything I can do to help circulate it more widely seems worth trying. The video was aired earlier on two local news broadcasts.

If you happen to be reading this from Los Angeles, and recognize this guy, please come forward...

August 10, 2004 - My aunt's killer now has a price on his head. The LAPD held another press conference this morning, announcing a substantial reward for information leading to his capture. Pictures of the suspect can still be found in this earlier press release.

August 11, 2004 - NBC4's site has a brief news item about the case and the reward now being offered. It includes a newly released police sketch of the suspect. I'm keeping an eye on NBC4 and KTLA via FeedRoom, in case the story made yesterday's L.A. evening news broadcasts. The more publicity the better.

August 12, 2004 - Apparently the story didn't make the cut on any of the video streaming sites. More importantly though, it did get airtime on all the L.A. local news shows, on both Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. (My cousin Michele tells me that Channel 7 had the best coverage among them.) Good to hear. Hopefully it will help.
